Which election was the closest in history thus far?

Rutherford B. Hayes (1876), Benjamin Harrison (1888), and George W. Bush (2000) all lost the popular vote but won the electoral vote. My vote goes to Bush since he was chosen by the supreme court rather than the people. Bush was awarded the Florida electoral vote after the court decided he won the state by 500 votes even though several recounts showed Gore won.
