Locking Tuners on a 12 string guitar?

So I have been playing 6 string for awhile but now I want to try 12 string. I got a good deal on one but it needs new tuners. I heard 12 strings go out of tune really easily would it help to get locking tuners? Is it okay to put locking tuners on an acoustic because it is a 12 string acoustic. Locking tuners are mainly used on electrics right? Also is grover a good brand of locking tuners? I know I will have to spend $100 or on tuners because it is like $50 for 6 and I will need 2 sets of 6. Is there any way to get cheap locking tuners without sacrificing quality. Any suggestions appreciated.
