How can I tell if this guy is playing me?

I'm dating this guy, and he asked me out today. But people keep warning me about him. Although it's only been three people, and none of them know him too well, though one has had sex with him. I'm worried because I've been used a lot, and I have not so good judgement. but I don't think he's using me. He's so geniune, always telling me I'm beautiful, cute, and holding doors for me. He could've had sex with me a few days ago, and to be honest, today we did. But he took public transit and walked for about an hour and a half to come see me on a day it was pouring, and showed up drenched, comes to visit me from far away, waited for me for two hours outside my school while I was doing a final, and always cuddles me and holds me on the bus so I don't fall. He claims he really cares about me, and wants this relationship to be different, but I'm scared. It's freaking me out that I will get used again, because I have so much. He makes time for me, and just treats me so sweetly. I don't know what to do... help me.
